Our Team

Desktop at a Distance LLC was founded in 2008 to speed adoption and deployment of virtual desktop computing solutions within global corporations.The two founders, Peter Badger and Stephen Vilke, have 36 years of combined experience in the IT field. They have run global infrastructure operations, managed application portfolios, owned security and architecture/strategy and have governed spend in firms with annualized IT infrastructure budgets of $10MM to $600MM.

Peter Badger, Chief Executive Officer

As Desktop at a Distance CEO, Peter is responsible for managing day-to-day business operations, strategic planning and sales/marketing. Prior to co-founding DaaD, Peter held technology leadership positions in strategy, enterprise architecture and software development at a number of corporations including Barclays Global Investors, Qwest Communications, Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley. Peter holds a BEng (Hons) in Computer Systems and Electronics from King's College, London University.

Stephen Vilke, Chief Technology Officer

As Desktop at a Distance CTO, Stephen oversees the strategic platform and implementation effort responsible for creating the turnkey, cost effective desktop solution for our clients. Prior to co-founding DaaD, Stephen spent the previous seven years creating and managing the Infrastructure Architecture and Strategy teams at Barclays Global Investors (BGI) and the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC). Prior to CIBC, Stephen held technology leadership and research positions at Alteon WebSystems, Nortel Networks, Clarify and NASA. Stephen holds a degree in Physics from U.C. Berkeley.

Peter and Stephen are supported by a solid team of Project Managers, Infrastructure Architects, and Infrastructure Engineers with considerable implementation experience in the virtual desktop computing field.
